Travel With Kids

Yes, it really is possible to still travel once the children come along!

My Husband and I have personally travelled to over 100 countries and taken our 16 & 14 year olds to 54 & 51 countries respectively, starting when our daughter was only 2 months old.  The secret is to be really organised and we find that it is a much more successful holiday the more planning we have done before we leave home.

With family spread throughout South Australia and in New Zealand there are many visits to our respective homes.  For South Australia we try and incorporate taking a different route when driving from Sydney each time to and from and in New Zealand we try to visit a different part of either the North and South Island on most visits.

Along with these annual journeys we try and do a longer overseas trip every second year to places that we still have on our wish list to visit.  These trips have been anywhere from three to ten weeks in length.

Here are some of the journeys we have taken with the kids:

3 weeks: Sydney – USA (San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Chicago, New York & Dallas)-Canada (Quebec, Montreal).  Child aged 3 months.
